This cookbook is a work of shared ideas, contributed recipes and hard work by members of my readers group and street team, Solara’s Glamorous Stars. Each recipe comes from them or friends that wanted to be part of a special project about the holidays and helping others. Coming together across social media, via email and chat/messenger, the recipes shared are from their family traditions and kitchens straight to yours.

Through this collection of recipes, we are reminded of the hands that toiled in the field to bring in the harvest, the care that went into the preparation of our meal, and the shared memories each of us found as we gathered around the dinner table. Este libro es la compilación de todas las recetas de cocina de mi suegra, Consuelo Ripstein de Jinich. Se trata de recetas de comida mexicana mezcladas con recetas de cocina yiddish y árabe. Todas fueron probadas durante su larga vida, pues falleció a los 95 años en la Ciudad de México en marzo de 2010. También contiene las recetas que sus amigas le compartían. Cuando Doña Chelo murió, sus nueras decidimos publicar este libro con el objeto que toda su familia y amigos pudiéramos compartir sus secretos de cocina. Ojalá lo disfruten tanto como nosotros.
